Mucem

The Mucem is one of the most modern and symbolic museums in France. Located directly on the Old Port, the futuristic building with its striking lattice façade is one of Marseille's architectural landmarks. It is dedicated to the cultural history of the Mediterranean region - with changing exhibitions, interactive installations and a fascinating combination of past and present.

The connection to the old walls of Fort Saint-Jean, which can be reached via a spectacular footbridge, is particularly worth seeing. From here, there is a breathtaking view of the sea and the harbor.

MUSÉE REGARDS DE PROVENCE

Just a few steps away from the Mucem is the Musée Regards de Provence - a charming art museum in a former harbor hygiene building. It exhibits works by regional artists that capture the light, colors and soul of Provence. The changing exhibitions combine tradition and modernity in an inspiring way.

A highlight is the panoramic terrace with a view of the harbor. A quiet place for a break between two visits to the museum.

CHÂTEAU D'IF

The Château d'If is one of the most famous fortresses in France and made world-famous by Alexandre Dumas' novel "The Count of Monte Cristo". It was built in the 16th century on a small island off Marseille to protect the city from attacks, but later served as a prison for a long time. Today, it is a fascinating testimony to its time and offers spectacular views of the city and the sea.

The boat trip to the island (from Vieux-Port) is also included in the City Pass. Entry to the fortress is free for pass holders - an absolute highlight for history and literature fans.

PETIT TRAIN DE MARSEILLE

The little tourist train is one of the most popular experiences in Marseille. It runs from the Old Port (Vieux-Port) along picturesque streets to the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde, one of the city's most beautiful viewpoints.
